Online Literature Circle Workshop

Year 3 - 4   l     3 - 7 Aug   l  2pm - 4pm

Literature Circle is a structured Guided Reading & Writing session which aims to promote a love of reading and joy of writing. Learners are engaged in critical thinking and reflection as they read, discuss and respond to literature stories. They learn to appreciate the various elements of literature, such as character development, setting and theme. As their vocabulary bank is expanded, and they learn to emulate an author's writing style, their writing skills will improve too. 

This workshop is conducted by Mr Eric Voong, an IGCSE teacher with 9 years of teaching experience in various English Academy, including British Council.

Online Year 5 & 6 Writing Workshop

Year 5 - 6  l  17 - 21 Aug  l  10am - 12pm  

During the 5-day 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟱 & 𝟲 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽, students will have the opportunity to improve their grammar, brush up their reading skills and explore different writing genres. This workshop is conducted by Mr Daniel Dusanjh, an IGCSE English & ICT teacher and Online Teaching trainer.

Online Year 7 & 8 Writing Workshop

Year 7 - 8  l  3 - 7 Aug  l  10am - 12pm  

Writing is a lifelong skill that helps students to succeed inside and outside the classroom. It is a powerful tool for students to articulate their thoughts and opinions, analyse information, journal through their personal struggle and communicate in a measured manner.

 

Join our upcoming Year 7 & 8 English Writing Workshop and learn to read, write and think like an investigative journalist! Students will also learn to write stunning movie scripts, create immersive stories through our fantasy writing modules, write their first biography and understand how diary entries can change life! The workshop is conducted by Mr Nigel Amritch, an IGCSE teacher, Senior Debate Coach, Editor, Journalist, Content Writer and Speech Writer.

Online Year 9 - 11 Writing Workshop

Year 9 - 11  l  10 - 14 Aug  l  10am - 12pm  

One of the biggest transitions between high school and college happens when the students sit down to write a paper. In college, majority of the assignments are graded based on student writing. Entering college as a strong writer is a prerequisite for success.

During our 5-day Online High School English Writing Workshop, High Schoolers will explore multiple genres and understand their structure, create a Non-Linear Story, learn to write Advanced Narrative Writing by using symbolism, allegory and intertextuality, Journaling, applying appropriate register and tone to Letter Writing, and writing Persuasive Text with parody and satire. The workshop is conducted by Mr Daniel Dusanjh, an IGCSE English & ICT teacher and Online Teaching trainer.

Online Digital Design Workshop

Year 5 - 11  (Age: 9 - 18)

Slot #1:  27 - 31 July  l  10am - 12pm

As we approach the 4th Industrial Revolution, intellectual skills and creativity are becoming more indispensable than ever. A creative workforce is needed to keep ahead of the frantic pace of Industry 4.0.

Join our 5-day 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 and cultivate your creativity! Learners will be guided through the creative process of generating ideas and transforming them into print and digital mediums. They will learn to use 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗯𝗲 𝗜𝗹𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿, the graphic design industry benchmark in vector creation tools, to create intricate and beautiful graphics! They will also learn the basic elements of Graphic Design and valuable tips on sketching, framing and dimensions. Having a well-rounded portfolio filled with skills like Adobe Illustrator will give them an edge in the future job market!

This workshop is conducted by Ms Deborah Devadas, a graphic designer. Deborah works with prominent Malaysian and International brands. She is passionate about sharing her experience and skills to inspire and guide the young ones in the field of Digital Design.

Online Mandala Art Workshop

Year 3 - 6  l  10 - 14 Aug  l  10am - 12pm

Mandala Art is symbolic yet therapeutic. Designing and colouring Mandalas can train one’s focus. It is a great way for relaxation and awakening the mind. Children learn patience and perseverance through Mandala. It also helps them to connect to their inner self and transform negative energies into positive ones, bringing balance to their lives.

This workshop is conducted by Ms Christina Ng, an Art teacher with 15 years experience in designing Children Art curriculum, training teachers and teaching Art programmes.

Online Critical Thinking & Persuasive Speaking Workshop

Slot #1:  Year 5 -6 l  27 - 31 July l 10am - 12pm  

Slot #2:  Year 7 -9  l  27 - 31 July  l  1pm - 3pm

Critical thinking and Communication are important 21 century skills that all learners need in order to succeed in school, work and life. In these workshops, the students will:

 

  • gain an understanding of the importance of critical thinking in everyday life;

  • erase pre-conceived biases;

  • learn how to think critically about social issues;

  • learn how to craft a persuasive and rhetorical speech;

  • learn how to fine-tune speech manner, gesture and retain your audiences’ attention.

The workshop is conducted by experienced debate trainers from Podium Academy
